![]() Elburn, Illinois, native Eric Ferguson has awakened and entertained Chicago radio listeners for over a decade after working around the country including Colorado, Florida and Pennsylvania. This University of Iowa alum claims he was attracted to a career in radio mostly because of the flashy, form-fitting uniforms that he gets to wear and the early hours allow him to pursue his dream of caddying on the PGA Tour. ![]() Kathy's obsession with food has her dreaming of being a judge on any cooking show. She is glad to be on the air at THE MIX, close to her hometown of Crystal Lake. After years of working in radio in Milwaukee, Phoenix, and Raleigh, she decided to quit her job and move home. Kathy enjoys the perks of her position such as meeting celebrities, but is happiest when she's on a massage table. ![]() Moving to Chicago wasn't a far trip for Melissa, who grew up in Indiana. At the age of 8, Melissa was already writing and creating radio shows on cassette tapes to play for her mom. Although the shows needed some work…come on…she was only 8 years old...she decided to pursue a career in radio. Melissa started her radio career in the Hoosier State in Hammond and Merrillville before becoming the sidekick, traffic reporter at THE MIX. She consistently strives to be the best Melissa she can be and says there is always more to learn through new experiences in life. The new love of her life is her son Porter who was born in December of 2010. "With a twinkle in his eye, he stole my heart". "Ok, so that's super cheesy" she says, but it's completely true. This Columbia College grad is happy to be working in Chicago radio and is the creative mind behind many of those catchy musical clips you hear in the morning. You may or may not be surprised that Swany still hangs out with his junior high school teachers and that his guilty pleasures include Spongebob Squarepants, The Weather Channel and Tom Cruise movies. ![]() Cynthia's guilty pleasure is celebrity gossip and happily starts her day reading People, US Weekly, TMZ and Page Six. It is in her job description! She recently married in May 2010. She's busy enjoying being a newlywed with her husband, trying to cram as much into life as possible and planning her dream trip to Paris. You'll likely find Cynthia browsing Chicago's trendiest boutiques, getting her mani/pedis and, of course, drinking wine with her girlfriends. ![]() Growing up on the Northwest Side of Chicago, Whip always knew he wanted to be in radio. He spent a good portion of his childhood in a small, dark room tape-recording music and sports broadcasts, journaling song charts, and mimicking announcers. A little bit sad, yes, but he feels that it has paid off. Whip got his first radio job at WPGU in Champaign while attending the University of Illinois. After graduation he moved his talents to the big city of Chicago. During the dog days of summer, you may spot Whip at a baseball game or taking in the architectural splendor the city has to offer. ![]() Cara Carriveau grew up wanting to be a drummer in a rock band. Thanks to her PS3 she often lives out that fantasy when she plays Rockband with her 13 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. Cara's voice likely sounds familiar since she has been heard on Chicago radio airwaves for decades. In fact, it's her voice you hear when you call some concert venues including the Rosemont Theatre and Allstate Arena. Her favorite perk of her job at WTMX is getting the opportunity to chat with Mix artists - you can find many of those conversations in Cara's Connection. ![]() As a young tike, Koz dreamt of being a pilot, but soon came to realize that if you joke around in the cockpit, something really bad could happen. Radio allows for much more wisecracking, so Koz got into broadcasting in L.A., Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Denver, but he is happiest to be working in his hometown at THE MIX. ![]() As a young girl growing up in Canton, Ohio, Erin dreamed of working in radio for the sole purpose of meeting "Prince" backstage where he would ask her to marry him. While she continues to work on her backstage pass, Erin can be heard weeknights as the host of U-Mix-It. On the weekends, between dog walks, you'll find Erin teaching fitness class, or on the couch, mouth open, snoring with a half-eaten bag of Gummy Bears by her side. Although she hates the helmet hair, Erin will often ride her bike to work. "It's amazing what you see when riding your bike in this city". ![]() After over 25 years in night-time radio, Mike is happy that he's had the opportunity to work with and for some of the very best in the industry. His supportive family (wife, two sons and two dogs) and a good day's sleep make this overnight guy happy. As a Chicago native, Mike's radio career has also stayed within the boundaries of Illinois sending him to such towns as River Grove, Dundee, Macomb, Des Plaines and Chicago.
